as evey other water source in the house is. The Master bats shower has a tempurature regulator that stops you at 100 degerees, which my Uncle says is in place to supply that shower with hot water faster. (Less waiting for warm hot) He says that in order to get a hotter shower his contractor said he’d have to buy a new water heater because there is sediment in the one he has. This makes no sense to me when all other water sources will scald you…even the sink a few feet away. Can’t I remove or adjust the regulator that has a higher degree on it but won’t let you turn it that far and still (if so) have less warm up time. somewhat? I think my Uncle is uninformed or am I the Idiot? ( Also his ‘contractor’ first language is spanish)

yes you can adjust it……..you will need to remove the handle……… then you will need to turn the stem with a small pair of pliers to full hot…….observe what is stopping it from going further…..and adjust….. some handles are removed with a allen key from under the handle…..or if plastic just remove cap and use a screw driver….
Well you have to find out what type of water heater you have. From what I know all water heaters have a temperature control and the recommended minimum is 130 degrees. If its an electric water heater it usually has two thermostats; one near the top and one near the bottom. If it is gas it is usually under a plate at the bottom. Some newer ones have it expose near the middle. I would definitely check it out before you go buying a new one.
